The Research

Before doing my documentary I will have to do some Primary and secondary research, firstly I started to my secondary research, which would be to look at BBC Three's history and also about them and what programs they show on there. From this research I have found out that the channel is aimed at 16-34 year olds, and that the channel does not broadcast on analogue but only digital platforms such as freeview.
The history of BBC Three was that in 2002 they wanted to change their channel BBC Knowledge to BBC Four and also BBC Choice to BBC Three. The channel runs from 7pm to 4am every night so they can share terrestrial digital bandwidth with the CBBC channel.
BBC Three shows a large range of various programs from Genre's such as Comedy, drama, factual, entertainment, Religion and ethics and also BBC Three shows a few films. BBC Three also show's Sports, for the duration of the 2012 summer Olympics BBC Three was increased it's broadcasting hours to 24 hours to show extra coverage of the Olympic games.

Here are some programs that are shown on BBC Three, from Comedy such as Family Guy, American dad, Live at the apollo, Russell howards good news, two pints of lager ad a packet of crisps and also Total wipeout they also show documentaries such as Sun sex and suspicious parents, Don't tell the bride and also Words strictest parents.

For my primary research I then made a Questionnaire to find out, if people watch BBC Three and also what type of programmes people watched on BBC Thee. Then when I had my questionnaires back, I then put all my information into graphs to see which was the most popular and also which was the least popular. The first graph I made i asked what programmes people watched on BBC Three, I gave them a list of programs and they had o circle which ones they watched. From my results I've found out that the most popular programs people watch on BBC Three is Russell howards good news and also Family Guy.

I then asked people who watch BBC Three to rate the channel from 1-10, 1 being very poor and then 10 being excellent, a few people had rated BBC Three as a 6 but then from looking at my results most of the  people I had asked would rate BBC Three as a 7.

As part of my secondary research I then looked at what a Stroke was and what the damages were, I have found out that 'A stroke is an event which can damage a part of the brain, this can happen if any artery that feeds blood to the brain gets clogged, or if it tears and leaks'.
I also looked at what the causes of a stroke were, for example, smoking, obesity and also high blood pressure could cause a stroke and also the symptoms (FAST campaign) I then looked at life after a stroke, and that a stroke could affect everyone differently they could experience the most dramatic recovery in hospital in the weeks after their stroke. Their recovery is in fact a long period of rehabilitation as they have to learn to deal with the effects of the stroke has on them.
In my documentary I will be visiting Day service down Cardiff, where many stroke survivors would go to do various activities to help them with their day to day life's. I will also be interviewing two young Stroke survivors who will share their story about their Stroke and how it has affected them whether it would be a Slur in their speech, lost their eye sight or have blurred vision or they may find it difficult to understand speech or even finding words.
